Paulo Coelho is a Senior Engineer at the Ordem dos Engenheiros (Portugal), ISA-International Society of Automation’s senior member, and has a degree in Electrical Engineering – Automation and Industrial Electronics, by ISEL, Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa.

Since 2013, he is Responsible for the Automation, Communications and Energy Area, at AQUASIS, collaborating on technical design, project development and consulting on Telemetry, Industrial Automation and Control, and SCADA systems. Recently, he has been specializing in Industrial Cybersecurity and has been involved in assessments of maturity level and risk evaluations of ICS/SCADA cybersecurity systems.

He joined AQUASIS in 2007, providing technical advice in the implementation of Telemetry, Industrial Automation and Control systems, and multiservice communication networks for Water Utilities in Portugal.

From 2000 to 2007, he worked at SOTÉCNICA as a Project Manager, highlighting the implementation of the Light Signaling Command and Control System, the Medium Voltage Data Acquisition System, at Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, as well the Building Management System for the Passenger Terminal at Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, and at Lisbon Airport.

He began his professional career in 1995 as a trainee, having also worked at ISEL as Electrical Machines Laboratory Supervisor, and as Teaching Assistant in the Computer Programming and Electrical Machines II classes.
